Metric time (Who needs sleep?)

Does anybody remember the SNL skit about converting to metric time, 100 hour days, 100 days in a month, 10 months a year. The solution was government subsidized speed during waking hours and Quaaludes to sleep. Apparently this may not be to far off.

I remember my dad telling me that in 60's they were saying that because we were becoming so much more efficient that we would have more free time. People would work 20 hours a week rather than 40. Too bad the exact opposite happened.

But factorial time is such a nice alternative to metric time.

Wilkes,

700 hours a week/20 hours a week. Hmmm....

I vote for a 98% reduction in an exempt employee's time at work per week.

Even the Euro PEANs do not get away with working 2% of the week (yet).

However, by the time we would reach 1 year, this model unfortunately aligns with current corporate America. Working just about 10.5 months per year.

So we would enjoy each week, start to loathe each month, and by the year’s end work would suck.

No explicit correlation to today, by the way. ;)

Cheers!

Eric
